Charity Walk + Fun Run FAQ for Families
1. What is the Charity Walk?
The Big Island Visitors Charity Walk is a large community walk that raises money for local schools and nonprofits. Our school will participate as a team, so students can walk together and represent our school.
2. Why is the school combining the Fun Run and Charity Walk?
We want to keep fundraising simple for families by focusing on one main event instead of multiple fundraisers.
3. How does my child qualify to join the Waikoloa School PTSA team for the Charity Walk?
If your student gets $100 in donations, they can choose to join our school team. This is optional and meant as a fun reward for their effort.
4. Do we have to participate in the Charity Walk?
No. Participation in the Charity Walk is completely optional. Students can still take part in the Fun Run fundraiser and Fun Run event day without joining the walk.
5. When and where is the Charity Walk?
The walk will take place on May 9, 2026 at Queens’ Marketplace, Waikoloa Bowl.
6. Does it cost extra to register?
No additional cost. Students who qualify and choose to participate will be registered by the PTSA as part of our school team. Family members can sign up to walk with our PTSA team and their student (additional fees apply)
7. How does this benefit our school?

This combined fundraiser helps us raise more money with fewer fundraising events. The funds go directly toward school programs, activities, and resources that benefit our students and teachers.
